The Provost is responsible for the College’s annual budget and long-range financial planning, and for overseeing the Library, Information Technology, the Williams College Museum of Art, Controller’s Office, the Science Center, the Office of Admission, Office of Financial Aid, and the Trust & Estate Administration Office. The Provost works with other senior administrative staff in developing budgets for departments and offices under their oversight. The Provost chairs AGAFA (the Advisory Group on Admission and Financial Aid), is a voting member of the CAP (Committees on Appointments and Promotions), and an ex officio member of CPR (the Committee on Priorities and Resources), and the Library. He or she is assisted by the Associate Provost and Directors, whose duties include financial planning and record keeping, monitoring department budgets, grants administration, accounting, supervising the Student Course Survey, and conducting institutional studies.
