Trend in Expenses

Williams responded to the financial crisis by freezing salaries, sharply cutting operating budgets, and deferring maintenance of our capital plant. We continue to hold operating spending flat, while gradually reinvesting in our people and facilities. The cost of financial aid (which is a discount from revenues rather than an expense) has grown rapidly over the last decade, from $16 million to $48 million per year.
