The Provost advances the strategic priorities and academic mission of the college primarily through the thoughtful and purposeful allocation of resources. This means engaging with all of the main components of our operating budget, from faculty and staff compensation and positions, departmental or manager’s budgets, and capital renewal to tuition, financial aid, and philanthropic giving. The Provost also participates in discussions about longer-term projects and proposed initiatives with significant resource implications, from constructing a new building to launching a new program.
The Provost supports eight critical areas of the college: Admission, Institutional Research (IR), the Libraries, Office for Information Technology (OIT), the Science Center, Student Financial Services, Williams College Museum of Art (WCMA), and the Zilkha Center for the Environment.
